Are you tired of slow recovery after probe burn-off, frustrated by thermal-shock failures of probes in your pit furnaces or angry that your "rebuildable" probe really cannot be rebuilt or doesn't last very long when it is?

At Marathon we know that one tool cannot perform every job. Some probes work well in pits, others suffer thermal shock failure between loads. Some use costly components that can be rebuilt time-after-time, while less expensive probes simply don't last.

As a result we offer carbon probes that are tailored to your specific needs. From the world renown Advance Atmosphere (AACC) to the rapid-recovery Ultraprobe II, our probes - like all real tools - are optimized so that they provide the best solution to your problems because in the real world one size does not fit all.

Marathon still manufactures and supports its full line of legacy carbon probes on a "built-to-order" basis. These products are available as special order items. Please call (800) 547-1055 for additional information.

AACC-Magnum

Based on the acclaimed Advanced Atmosphere Carbon Controller Substrate, the AACC-Magnum provides unmatched accuracy and life and is backed by a comprehensive 18-month Warranty

  • 18-month warranty

  • Full sheath or focused burn-off available

  • Rebuild "kits" allow replacement of only those parts that have worn out.

  • Sheath available in high-temperature alloy or ceramic.

  • Machined 6061 head will last virtually forever.

  • The most-accurate, longest-lasting substrate available

  • User-rebuildable design

  • Factory refurbished multiple times with warranty backing

  • 1.05" diameter, schd. 40 sheath to eliminate probe sag problems - no need to periodically rotate the probe in order to prevent failure

  • Available in a number of standard insertion lengths up to 30" (765mm)

  • "K", "R", and "S" integral thermocouples

Magnum

The Ultraprobe-Magnum uses the SIRO substrate which provides the best resistance to thermal and mechanical shock and the best value available in carbon probes. Ideal for pits or door areas where large changes in temperature are common.

  • 12-month warranty

  • Full sheath or focused burn-off available

  • Rebuild "kits" allow replacement of only those parts that have worn out.

  • High-temperature ally sheath

  • Machined 6061 head will last virtually forever.

  • Advanced SIRO substrate withstands thermal shock

  • User-rebuildable design

  • Factory refurbished multiple times with warranty backing

  • 1.05" diameter, schd. 40 sheath to eliminate probe sag problems - no need to periodically rotate the probe in order to prevent failure

  • Available in a number of standard insertion lengths up to 30" (765mm)

  • "K", "R", and "S" integral thermocouples

Advanced Atmosphere (AACC) Carbon Series

The most accurate, longest-lasting carbon probe ever built. The optional ceramic sheath, coupled with more platinum than any other probe on the market, allow this series of probes to withstand temperatures greater than 1850°F. (1010°C).

  • Available in a number of standard insertion lengths up to 30" (765mm)

  • "K", "R", and "S" integral thermocouples

  • First generation general probe burn-off

  • Probe electrical disconnect allows for simple replacement

  • High quality stainless construction allows this probe to be refurbished multiple times with warranty backing

  • Ceramic sheath available

  • Schd. 40 sheath to eliminate probe sag problems

Piccolo Probe: A Marathon Sensors exclusive, designed for use with Endothermic Atmosphere Generators, the Piccolo Probe replace the "probe/reheat well" combination offered by other vendors. The Piccolo Probe also allows the sampling of multiple generator retorts. Additionally, the Piccolo Probe has proved successful in several other processes (i.e. sintering and annealing), and can use gas rather than air as a reference gas.
